Meet Dana Judice

Dana Judice, a native from Loreauville, Louisiana, was born in the 60’s to a large family. Dana learned throughout his childhood that despite being surrounded by a large family, a person could feel alone. During his childhood, his father remained aloof and this distance filtered into Dana’s own psyche leaving him to wonder, “What’s wrong with me?” After spending years away from family, as suggested by a therapist he was seeing, he began to realize sometimes people’s actions did not fit their heart. Sometimes people respond in the only manner they know how. When you use a screwdriver to drive a nail in the wall, the results are not what you desire, but; if all you have is a screwdriver to work with, the results can’t be helped. This is what Dana learned in his time away. Sometimes good people don’t know how to show they care because they weren’t handed the proper tools to develop healthy relationships.
And so his quest to focus on bettering his own life began, but not without its own trials and triumphs.
Dana graduated with a BS (Bachelor of Science) at USL and received his MSW (Master of Social Work) at LSU. He has worked within the realm of the social services field for over 20 years with many of his earlier years counseling children in Ft. Hood, Texas and Ft. Polk, Louisiana. Children have always been special to Dana and he learned a myriad of lessons viewing the glass through a child’s innocent eyes. He is also a local author in Acadiana who has published 2 children’s books in more recent years.

Frequently Asked Questions:

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 20 years, I know how vital it is for my clients to feel they are in a safe and trusted environment. Be assured I do not share information or discuss your therapy with anyone. I hold a high standard of ethics and your trust is paramount to me.

I have compiled a list of FAQ’s for the benefit of those who are uneasy speaking with a stranger about personal or legal issues, or those who have no idea what to expect.

Please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone to discuss any questions you may have.

Therapy, in simple terms, is when you speak privately with a professional who has been trained in specific areas to guide you to resolving problematic behaviors or to dive into your feelings to get to the root of the problem.
Should you have self destructive behaviors such as substance abuse, repetitive DUI's, anger management issues, I can help you recognize these behaviors and together we devise a plan to eliminate those issues.
I have a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) for over 20 years. I am licensed in the state of Louisiana and have worked with diverse populations across the country.
Absolutely not! Your "issues" remain with me and I will never breach that trust with you.
Absolutely not! In fact, I find it a level of strength for one to be seeking assistance in the first place. Individuals who can look at themselves and say, "I think I need some help here," are more self aware than others and usually more receptive to trying to find a solution to their issues rather than bury them. That depicts strength and courage, not weakness.
I look at therapy and therapist like medicine. What works for one person may not work for another. It may have been you and your therapist did not mesh, or perhaps you were not willing to open up to change. There could have been a number of things involved. What matters is that you are seeking assistance now. ALWAYS LIVE IN THE PRESENCE.
We would like to think we could for any of our issues, right? Packed on 30 pounds? Take a pill. Want bigger muscles? Take a pill. Want to expand your knowledge? Take a pill. But the fact is, if you want results in the mind, spirit, or body, we must put forth effort.

"I Wish" Series...

About The "I Wish" Series...

During the years I spent counseling school age children, a vast majority were either neglected, fatherless, or just confused about their existence, often wondering whether they were truly loved and important. Having spent my own childhood with feelings of insecurity and not always feeling like I belonged, I never wanted another child to feel abandoned and alone in a big world that too often is cold and cruel.

One of the most sacred privileges I am afforded as a counselor is to be able to get an up close and deeper look into the minds and hearts of our children. One of the saddest aspects is, I also collect the more disturbing view of the world that so abruptly rips away their innocence.

Gently, I would ask them…

“If I could grant you three wishes, what would you wish for?”

Hence the “I Wish” series was born.
